This piece sadly was giving me a tough fight as the paper did like neither the water colours nor the masking liquid. *sighs* It's just a little something... nothing special, but I wanted to share it anyhow since it's the first Bloodi drawing of 2009... and the year's already half over. ;__;
Back then Bloodi used to have his spiked collar and people seemed to rather like it, so I thought I let it put him back on. You know... for sentimental reasons. While we moved beyond the spiked collar I do think I will resume adding slight hilights of lilac and blue to his fur... I like that.
So there you go... have some big black hunk of Bloodhound.
It's nice to have Bloodi back. He's a great character, I like him! I remember the first time I saw him. The lilac and blue look good with the fur, though, it lighten him up.

I like the splattery background. Was that added digitally or is the piece like that in real life?
Your rendering of the fur and other details is very good. I'm not sure about the anatomy, though - his legs look uncomfortably placed (they appear to be all in the same plane) and his raised arm is hard to read. Was this referenced from a photo?

"Take the Kama Sutra. How many people died from the Kama Sutra as opposed to the Bible? Who wins?" ~ Frank Zappa
Thank goodness he's back. I thought he was gone for a while! At least he's back though. And yeah, blue's my favorite colour, too! ^-^

I used several pieces as guidelines, but no exact references. This was meant to be a small thing only, something to draw my own character at least once a year...

When I am not so dependent anymore on the money I earn through commissions and cons, I promise you, there will be more! I miss taking care of my brain babies. ;__;

The lilac and blue was something I used to do around 2001-2002, but I really like how it looks. Not to mention they're my favourite colours. ^^

The background provides a good compliment to his fur. I really like the iridescent quality you have given to his black fur.
