My part of the trade with :iconlizkay: of her gryphon character Thefala. He was meant to look determined, but I am afraid he looks a bit grumpy now. ^^;

I tried creating the illusion of distance by adding a more colourful/ brilliant colour layer in the front, fading out into the distance, where clouds and fog eat up the rest. For a frist try I am rather content, but I think I will have to work a bit more on that method. :)

i think the background is still too much detailed, especially in right bottom corner. you could add more blue colour to the green.

all in all, very nice expression on the character

The area you mentioned is more detailed because it's closer to the viewer than the two large hills in the backgaround and I used a rather greyish colour to wash out the background, because the sky in the reference I used was incredibly cloudy and not blue. :)

With the wing position and the different legs, it looks like a pair of animals are under a griffon-shaped costume.

Mhhhh der Hintergrund ist gut geworden. Aber irgendwas stimmt am Greif nicht, wie derjenige oben schon sagte - es sieht aus, als ob es zwei verschiene Tiere sind, die zusammengefügt wurden.

Very nice! I love how you use colored pencils.

To make the character have looked a little less grumpy, I'd have recommended having the ears up and alert. Pinning them back makes them look like their offended.
